Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry

Our cosmetic dental services can dramatically and safely change the way the world looks at you. Our staff is available to provide and discuss any information concerning cosmetic dentistry and what we can do for you.

Our cosmetic dental services include:

  • Tooth-Colored Fillings – Tooth-colored fillings can preserve the natural look of your smile. They match the tooth perfectly, and are minimally invasive; meaning less tooth structure is removed.
  • Porcelain Veneers – For crooked, discolored, or unevenly worn teeth, the addition of porcelain veneers may be sufficient to give your teeth a bright, uniform look in just a couple of weeks without going through orthodontic treatment.
  • Porcelain Inlays and Onlays – A Porcelain inlay or onlay is a custom-made piece of porcelain that fits in (inlay) or fits on (onlay) your tooth. Inlays and Onlays replace missing tooth structure when a tooth will not hold a filling and a crown is not necessary.
  • Porcelain Crowns – A crown is a covering to replace the top part of your tooth above the gum line. Crowns are necessary most times when teeth have had root canal therapy. Crowns are also needed when teeth are broken down due to decay; fracture or they just need to look better.

When a Crown may be required:

  • If a large part of a tooth has fractured and the rest of the tooth is at risk of further fracture, a dental crown can protect the remaining part of the tooth from fracture.
  • If a significant part of a tooth is lost to dental decay and there is a risk that if a filling is used to restore the tooth, the filling could come out or fracture. Crowns are a lot stronger that fillings and better able to protect against tooth fracture.
  • During root canal treatment, a large portion of the tooth is removed and the remaining tooth tissue can fracture and discolour after root canal treatment. A crown can increase the success rate of a root canal treated tooth and protect the structure of the tooth and increase its longevity and its aesthetics.

CEREC Crowns

Your time is valuable, and so is your smile. Now you can have a strong, beautiful, and permanent dental crown milled and placed in a single office visit. Advanced technology offered at Edward Feins goes by the acronym CEREC, for (CERamic REContstruction) which utilizes a variety of computer assisted technologies, including 3D photography and CAD/CAM for the restoring of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. CEREC can create full crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers in a single sitting in a matter of minutes, rather than the multiple visits required with earlier techniques. CEREC restorations are made of compressed porcelain, which is why they are stronger than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of a CEREC restoration is that we can do it all in two hours in our office, with no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or temporary to wear.

  • CEREC is the best restoration option available to patients as;
  • It is engineered to be just like a natural tooth
  • It is bio-compatible, long lasting and doesn’t stain
  • It protects and preserve remaining natural tooth structure from breaking
  • It looks and feels like tooth.
